And how high does the fever need to be?
Before we should be "concerned?"

Please note an early morning conversation with a "nurse!"

Nurse: Hello this is Angie?

Mommy: Hello Angie, Joseph is running a fever of 102.8. I've given him Tylenol, he's shaking as if he has the chills and is acting really weird; babbling and such.

Nurse: Have you given him any medicine?

Mommy: Ummm yes, I gave him Tylenol at about 3:00 a.m. (which was about 15 minutes prior to speaking with her)

Nurse: Did you give him any Motrin?

Mommy: Ummm no, I gave him Tylenol at about 3:00 a.m. I can't give him the Motrin and the Tylenol together. We are about to head to the emergency room.

Nurse: Well typically you should wait 30 minutes to an hour for the medicine to start working, to see if his fever would go down. For the chills you should wrap him in blankets, put socks on him and make sure he's warm.

Mommy: Ok, at what temperature should we head in to the emergency room? Or at what point should we be concerned?

Nurse: At about 105 degrees is when there is need for concern.

Mommy: (note to self...what the heck? 105 degrees? AFTER the seizure?...end note to self) Ok Angie, let me confirm...you want us to wait a little bit and see what happens?

Nurse: yes

Mommy: ok, bye...click

Mommy: replaying the conversation with the nurse to Daddy while checking Joseph's temperature again

Mommy: his temperature is now 104.6

Daddy: Ummm let's go to the Emergency Room!

IDIOT!!! Why in the world would she (Nurse Angie) think we would sit at home and wait for the possibility of his fever to exceed 104 degrees; especially when this whole parenting concept is "new"...everything freaks us out!!! I don't know, you be the judge...You have a thirteen month old with a fever of 104.6, chills and weird behavior...Whatever "Nurse"Angie...and I use that term "Nurse" loosely! Texas Children here we come!
"I'm sick Mommy..."
"Can you make it all better?"

"Look at me..."
"I'm flying!"

Time...
The more things change...

The more they stay the same!

We are so proud!
Daddy and I have been eagerly anticipating the day that we would see just how much Joseph is learning at school. I mean, we send him everyday...Mommy more reluctantly than Daddy, but we send him nonetheless. And today...to our surprise...what do we have?

GRANDPARENT'S DAY cards!!! And not just "any" Grandparent's Day card I might add! We have finger-paint, crayon AND hand prints!

Please keep reminding me that we've told you Joseph was a genius :-)

"Who Ya Rootin' For?"
PVU...oops...I mean SU...as in the Southern University Jaguars!

This weekend I went to my first college football game. My Dad's Alma Mater (Southern U) played the University of Houston! Unfortunately for my dad, Southern loss the game by a humongous, gigantic margin! My Mommy said we should have gone to the Prairie View game because they’re the winning team!!! GO PANTHERS!

I can’t wait until my next football game…hope you enjoy the pictures!"

Me, My Daddy and Mommy!
Me and My Dad!
Playin' in the suite at the game!

My Dad gave me some ice cream and I didn't like it too well at first!
